Alastair founded Rendesco in 2012 with the principle aim of raising the standard of heat pump design and installation to the highest level. Under his direction, the Company has grown to become the UK’s leading company specialising in the design and installation of ground source, water source and air source heat pump systems.
After gaining his degree in Economics, Alastair decided to combine his two passions; renewable energy and business. Early in his career, he quickly worked his way up the ranks to be named Commercial Director at a renewable energy provider. There, his deep understanding of the technical and commercial side of various heating technologies won prestigious contracts, nominating him for young business leader awards for his work and contributions to the sector.
As Managing Director, Alastair oversees every area of the Company from tendering to design, through to installation and commissioning. He works together with his management team to guide the Company to success and ensure they remain the authority of heat pump technologies.
Michael is Managing Director and majority owner of Copley Point Capital, a specialized principal investor focussed on company and property purchases in the UK. Copley Point Capital is a shareholder of Rendesco Limited.
Until February 2018 he was Managing Director of Gramercy Europe Limited (previously ThreadGreen), a commercial real estate fund management business that he co-founded in 2006. ThreadGreen was sold to the NYSE-listed REIT Gramercy Property Trust (today a Blackstone subsidiary) in 2014. Prior to founding ThreadGreen he worked at D.B. Zwirn, a global multi-strategy hedge fund. From January 2005 he was an Associate at W. P. Carey & Co. in London, one of the world’s largest investors in sale-leaseback transactions of commercial real estate. He previously was a Consultant with Erskine Management Consultancy, working on the design and implementation of operational strategies for some of the UK’s leading public and private companies. Michael started his career in 2002, as an Analyst in W. P. Carey’s domestic (US) acquisitions team in New York. During his career he has closed dozens of transactions, representing more than £1 billion in acquired assets.
Michael received his Master of Engineering degree from New College, Oxford University, where he graduated with first class honours on the university’s prestigious Engineering, Economics and Management program
Tom joined Rendesco in 2013. His responsibilities include; managing the sales team, overseeing tender submissions for new projects, managing and negotiating commercial contracts, and overseeing important projects to ensure they are successfully delivered.
Tom has a high level of technical and commercial knowledge of heat pump systems. He has been a key part of the delivery team for some of our most important and prestigious ground source, air source and water source heat pump installations in both the commercial and domestic sectors.
Prior to joining Rendesco, Tom worked in sales for a renewable energy company where he gained valuable experience in heat pumps, biomass, solar PV, solar thermal, and heating distribution systems.
At Rendesco we understand that any heat pump system is only as good as the system design. That is why we have invested heavily getting the best people in the industry to design our heat pump systems. As Technical Director, Lloyd has overall responsibility for the design and development of each project.
Lloyd joined Rendesco in early 2019 to lead the technical team on all our projects; from single dwellings to multi MW sized ground source, air source and water source heat pump systems. He is always keen to work with our clients to ensure that the system design meets all their requirements, as well as developing novel solutions to overcome any challenges
Lloyd has 36+ years’ experience in the HVCA industry, including 15 years specifically within the renewable energy industry. In addition, he has gained an MSc in Renewables and Resource Management and completed extensive training that spans health and safety (construction), building services, leadership, and system design.
Sophie joined the Company in April 2020 and is responsible for all aspects of finance and accounting. As part of the Rendesco management team she plays an important role in financial reporting, financial controls, overseeing invoicing and credit control, as well as ensuring all payments are made promptly and correctly.
Prior to Rendesco, Sophie had ran her own accounting firm covering the full range of accounting requirements for small businesses.
James joined Rendesco in January 2014 and is one of the key members of the Company. He oversees the delivery and commissioning of our our heat pump installations to ensure that they meet the highest quality standards.
James has a wealth of experience in all areas of heat pump technology including; the refrigeration circuit, controls and system interface, mechanical and hydraulic installation, electrical design and wiring, and system commissioning. All this knowledge means that he is the go-to person for troubleshooting and fault finding.
James has 16+ years of installation experience on top of extensive training to ensure that quality and safety standards are achieved on every installation.
Every business needs a person that keeps all the plates spinning at once and Fran is ours. She joined Rendesco in 2018 and has since grown to become an indispensable member of the Rendesco team.
She is responsible for development and implementation of processes in the office, purchasing, document control, as well as overseeing the maintenance side of the business.
Prior to Rendesco, Fran developed her organisational, processing and client relationship skills from 9+ years within a collections agency, including 5 years of managerial experience.
David joined Rendesco in March 2018 and has a hugely varied role within the Company. His responsibilities include; technical support, electrical installation, commissioning and controls/interface set up. David also takes on some of the ongoing specialised service and maintenance work for our heat pump systems following handover.
Prior to joining Rendesco, David had an impressive career covering electrical engineering, contracting project management and estimation, and 12 years specifically focusing on heat pump technology for a leading heat pump manufacturer. He brings a huge depth of knowledge and experience to Rendesco and epitomises our focus on investing in highly skilled and capable people.
David has completed an extensive list of safety management, electrical design and inspection certifications
Mark is one of the founding members of Rendesco, establishing the technical design and installation part of the business. He is a qualified mechanical engineer and specialist in renewable systems. He has developed new and innovative solutions for customers utilising heat pump and solar thermal combinations.
He has designed some of the largest and most complex installations in the UK, and his expertise and capability extends to consultancy on significant projects for a number or large construction companies.
Originally from Germany, where the Renewables are significantly more advanced, Mark’s passion for heat pumps and other renewable technologies drives all aspects of his output, ensuring systems are designed properly and efficiently.
Alice joined the Rendesco team in June 2019 and specialises in historic buildings and stately homes. She is the first point of customer contact responsible for initial consultation, scope-of-work quotation and installation scheduling for all phases of the project development and delivery.
Alice has 12 years’ experience specifically in ground source heat pumps, air source heat pumps and large district heating schemes using heat pumps and biomass for large country estates and commercial properties.
We are MCS accredited, RECC members, SMAS accredited (recognised by SSIP), and all our operatives carry the necessary health and safety qualifications to carry out their work.
