Rendesco Receives Funding for Revolutionary Software to Drive Energy Transition
This week we were thrilled to find out that we’ve been awarded funding from the University of Birmingham Climate Innovation Platform (CIP). Supported by HSBC UK and part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund, the CIP is delivering a series of development opportunities to support businesses committed to driving energy technology innovation. For Rendesco, this will drive the development of our software - Energy Centre Management System (ECMS) - as part of our mission to advance the transition to renewable heating.
Effect on Energy
Our ECMS is revolutionising the management of our geothermal heat networks. By enabling remote monitoring, enhanced sensor capabilities, and detailed data analysis, it is increasing efficiency, enabling rapid fault identification, and informing future designs. This innovative software reduces carbon emissions by offering more efficient heat pump solutions and ensuring optimal performance of our networks, leading to lower maintenance costs and higher energy reliability for end-users.
The market demand for heat pumps is growing rapidly, with gas boilers being phased out in new-build homes by 2025. Our ECMS meets the need for better network management and enhanced performance. It also aligns with government regulations and will benefit network operators by simplifying compliance. Our innovation also transforms the market by making ground source heat pump-based heat networks more accessible and affordable for developers and end-users, leading to significant carbon emission reductions.
Unique Product Features
The ECMS integrates existing data loggers, meters, and additional sensors into a centralised management system with a user-friendly graphical interface. It enables efficient data collection, remote access, system monitoring, and interactive control for maintenance engineers and end-users. The benefits include increased network efficiency, reduced costs, enhanced reliability, and a positive impact on our journey to net-zero emissions. Not only this, the ECMS can be white-labelled for other network operators seeking compliant and efficient management systems.
As the shift from gas to heat pumps accelerates, our innovative solutions cater to the needs of developers, housing management groups, and end-users. At Rendesco, we are passionate about advancing our clean energy technology solutions and reducing carbon emissions. With the support of the Climate Innovation Platform, we are bringing our software to market, revolutionising the way heat networks operate and furthering the energy transition.
